整個Liberty City共有200隻鴿子，鴿子任務就像III代的包裹，VC的瓶子，SA的塗鴉、牡蠣和馬蹄鐵一樣是隱藏在城市角落里的物品，只是更小、更日常、更不容易察覺。紐約人估計不怎麼喜歡鴿子，IV代中鴿子被稱為flying rats，意思是會飛的老鼠。
每殺掉一隻鴿子屏幕下方會顯示還剩餘多少只。按start鍵，選擇Stats，翻到Score頁最下方Pigeon Exterminated項目會顯示已經殺掉多少只鴿子。
全部200隻鴿子討伐完成可以得到Annihilator滅絕者武裝直升機(位置在時代廣場MeTV大廈頂樓，遺憾的是沒有傳說中的火箭發射器)，同時有50點成就。如果你想達到100%完成度的話，鴿子任務也是必須要完成的。
殺鴿子的注意事項：
1. 所有的鴿子都會發紅光，但是根據周圍環境不同，時間不同，紅光並不是很容易發現，夜里會相對明顯一點。
2. 鴿子會發出聲音，所以聽到鴿子咕咕叫的聲音說明周圍一定有鴿子。
3. 只有用槍、手榴彈或者火箭筒才能消滅鴿子，小刀不行。開槍會引發警星，建議盡快撤離。
4. 開槍的時候建議不要用LT自動瞄準，因為通常鴿子所在的地方都有很多路人，容易鎖定到路人上。推薦半按LT或RT，會出現准心，此時可以自由瞄準。
5. 建議你把地圖用A3紙打印出來，殺掉一隻鴿子就勾掉一個，否則很容易遺漏，或者嚴格按照攻略上的順序殺。
6. 最後一點，殺鴿子的時候最好把手機的睡眠功能打開，這樣朋友們不會來騷擾你，殺鴿子是不會自動保存的，所以記得及時存盤。或者不開睡眠功能，及時和朋友們出去hangout，這樣活動結束以後會自動保存。

靠一下這個圖，再靠一下Rockstar，這麼陰險的位置誰找得到，准確的位置是圖上綠色大門右側，有圍欄的樓頂上，可以從左側的台階一路爬上有綠色大門的房頂，再跳到目標位置

這只鴿子位置比較陰險，先到地圖上，找到Candy&Grocery Store對面的輕軌入口，上去後在買票的平台上走到三個並排的買票機（一邊是三個，一邊是五個，所以不會搞錯），鴿子就在買票機後面一點的樓梯頂上
026 – Located on the rooftop of the apartment building opposite Lynch Street station. To reach it, look for the arch over the road (Ellery St) that connects the station and apartment building rooftops – climb across this from the station side. You’ll find the pigeon by the doorway near the water tower
繼續靠Rockstar，這只鴿子在Lynch Street站旁邊的樓的頂上，我覺得用直升機去可能更方便一點。如果你想像我一樣用人力的話，到地圖上位置你會看到這個樓和旁邊的輕軌站是連在一起的，而且這個輕軌站外有兩段斜坡。開一輛小車上斜坡，停在斜坡和站台的交界處，然後爬到車頂，跳上站台的屋頂（什麼？你不知道怎麼跳，罰你回家把這個攻略抄100遍，記得按X鍵，PS3版我想應該是方塊），然後一路跳也好爬也好上到目標房子的屋頂，鴿子就在屋頂的水塔附近。累死我了。

機場外的收費亭，注意不是在頂上，而是在地面上的一個小柱子上，英文攻略寫的太不清楚了。
029 – Inside a circular hollow of the main airport terminal building, adjacent to the entrance. To get a clear shot at it, use the stairs near the parking lot and get up to the platform of the train station that’s opposite the terminal building. Cross the tracks and walk until you can get a clear shot with the sniper rifle
又是一隻陰險的鴿子。位置是在圖上機場大樓南側的圓形洞洞里（丫的這鳥還真會躲），方法是從機場附近的輕軌站上去，走到鐵軌上，用狙擊槍狙掉。鐵軌上注意不要被列車壓死，可以來回走動一下找到一個好的角度。不知道在機場門口扔個手榴彈上去能不能夠打掉，有興趣的朋友可以試一試回來告訴我。另外請不要下鐵軌，因為從這里可以直接到第31隻鴿子。
030 – Land a helicopter on the top tier of the control tower. The pigeon is perched on the railing
機場指揮塔的最上面一個平台的欄杆上。需要用直升機。直升機可以到Algonquin南面的直升機觀光點奪取。殺掉以後最好直接先去消滅第37隻鴿子。
031 – Located on the rooftop between the two ‘FlyUS’ buildings. To access the rooftop, use the stairs from the airport terminal parking lot and get up to the platform of the train station that’s opposite the terminal building. Follow the train tracks and jump on to the ‘FlyUS’ building rooftop. The pigeon is hiding between the air-con units on the flat roof
位置在飛機場北面的兩幢flyUS大樓樓頂的中間。如果打完第29隻鴿子你還在輕軌上的話，可以沿着輕軌一路跑過去，從輕軌上跳到樓上。同樣也可以在打完第30隻鴿子後開直升機過去。注意殺這只鴿子因為在機場，所有開槍後很容易四星通緝，用直升機的話比較容易逃掉，步行的話就看你的實力了。
