加拿大尼加拉瀑布城Marineland有一隻虎鯨「Kiska」,這隻約44歲的雌性虎鯨被稱為「世界上最孤獨的動物」。牠從40年前在冰島被捕獲後,幾乎一生都被關在水族館的水族箱里,從2011年後就再也沒有同伴。近日2段Kiska的日常影片曝光,這隻孤獨的虎鯨竟不斷用頭撞牆,那絕望的模樣令人非常心疼。
▼Kiska自從40年前被人類捕獲,就一直被關在水族箱里。牠只有最初的幾年在海洋中生活過,長期被囚禁的牠疑似產生心理疾病。虎鯨是一種高度社會化的群居動物,而且智商非常高。Kiska之前也有同伴,但2011年時同伴被轉移到其他設施,牠就被完全孤立隔絕了。
▼Kiska過去曾生下5隻幼鯨,但都夭折了。長期被囚禁,再加上失去孩子,讓Kiska的身體和精神狀況逐漸惡化。今年7月,Marineland的前保育員Phil Demers在推特上po出一段影片,只見Kiska漂浮在水面上一動不動,顯然非常絕望。

▼最近Phil Demers又po出2段影片,動物保育人士前往園區查看虎鯨的狀況時,Kiska竟不斷用自己的頭猛烈撞擊水箱壁,這一過程持續了20多秒。這說明Kiska已經出現自殘傾向,牠的心理疾病已經很嚴重了。

加拿大動保團體指出,在安大略省,對動物的心理造成痛苦是非法行為。這些影片顯示Kiska的生理和精神需求都沒有得到滿足。動保人士呼籲當局儘快立案調查,救助Kiska。當地動物福利機關調查後也發現,Marineland的水質不佳,園內的動物生活環境惡劣。目前針對Marineland的法律訴訟還在進行中。
